Tidy Pet
How it works

What actually happens on the day

No surprises is most of the job. Here's the whole sequence, including the parts people usually only find out once the van is already outside.

1

You send the details

Breed or mix, rough weight, coat length and condition, age, and anything that's gone badly at a groomer before. If your pet has a health condition or is on medication, tell us then — not on the doorstep.

2

We quote and confirm

You get a price and a time slot. We also check where the van can legally and safely park at your address, since that's the one thing that can stop an appointment before it starts.

3

The van arrives

We park, set up, and come to your door. Have your pet's collar or harness on and leave the last bathroom break to just before we arrive — a settled bladder makes for a settled groom.

4

A quick look together

Before anything starts we go over the coat with you and confirm the plan. If what we're seeing doesn't match what was described, this is where we say so and re-agree the price.

5

The session

Your pet goes into the van alone with the groomer. Most animals settle faster without their owner watching through the door — it removes the pull to get back to you. The work runs at the animal's pace, with breaks where needed.

6

Handover and notes

We bring your pet back and tell you what we found: skin, ears, nails, any lumps or sore spots, and how the coat is holding up. Then we suggest when the next appointment should realistically be.

Your part

What we need from you

  • A parking spot. A legal place for the van close to your entrance. In gated communities or buildings with a barrier, please arrange access in advance.
  • Someone home. An adult present to hand the pet over and take it back.
  • An honest description. Especially about biting, matting and previous bad experiences. We're not going to refuse you for it — we'll book the right amount of time.
  • Vaccination status. Have your pet's records to hand in case we ask.
  • Notice if you need to cancel. A slot held for you is a slot someone else couldn't take.

If any of these is a problem at your address, say so when you write. Most things can be worked around if we know beforehand.

Timing

How long it takes, honestly

A mobile appointment is one animal, start to finish, with no queue in front of it — but it isn't a rush job either.

The coat sets the clock

Drying a heavy double coat properly takes longer than clipping a short one. We book the time the coat needs rather than a fixed slot length.

Nervous pets take longer

Breaks aren't wasted time. An animal that's allowed to reset finishes the session calmer and is easier to groom the next time.

We may stop early

If a pet becomes genuinely distressed or unsafe to handle, we stop, and you only pay for what was done. Forcing it through would cost you the next three appointments.
